Alumni-in-Residence Program

The Alumni-in-Residence Program is one way alumni are involved in Liberal Education and Effective Practice (LEEP) at Clark. Clark students have the opportunity to network with alumni participants and listen to experienced perspectives, insights and ideas, in order to make connections between academic learning and professional development.

Since Alumni-in-Residence was established in 2004, more than 100 distinguished alumni have shared their expertise and experiences with students in fields like law, publishing, finance, economics, the arts, transportation, genetics and more.

2015 Alumni program is a breath of fresh AIR

It's become a rite of autumn. The Alumni-in-Residence (AIR) program lures Clark University alumni back to campus to discuss with students the challenges they've faced, the successes they've achieved, and the roads they've traveled to reach their career destinations. Clarkies representing a vast array of professions—from Hollywood producing to high tech, politics to public service—have returned to tell their personal stories and offer insight into the world of work.

This fall was no different. On Oct. 26 and 27, Clark University and the Office of Alumni & Friends Engagement hosted 11 alumni, among them an investment executive, an inspector general for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, a Bloomberg business writer, and an aquatic ecologist. The participants shared their expertise and post-Clark stories with students and faculty over the course of the event.

Launched in 2004, Alumni-in-Residence is a signature initiative for Clark University, one that has brought back well over 100 alumni to Clark, and which in 2013 earned a silver award from the international organization the Council for Advancement and Support of Education. The program partners with alumni who are leaders in their fields with students of similar interests. Alumni participate in classes and panels, and meet with students in small groups, as well as individually, to share career advice and encouragement.
