Alumni & Friends Virtual Book Club

Tuesday, February 8, 6-7p.m. EST
Featured Book: The 1619 Project: A New Origin Story
(Introductory material and first five essays)

Join us for the first Book Club event of 2022 as we honor Black History Month. Laura Robinson, Clark University Librarian, will lead us through a discussion about the first five essays in The 1619 Project: A New Origin Story by Nikole Hannah-Jones. While we encourage attendees to read the whole book the focus of the book club event will be on the introductory material and the first five essays.

Joining Clark's Alumni & Friends Book Club is easy and participation can be at your own pace:

  1. Please register to reserve your place for the February session.
  2. Borrow the featured book from your local library or purchase on your e-reader device or from a favorite book retailer.
  3. Read the selected title prior to the discussion session for each book.
  4. One week before the book club meets, you will receive an email with preparatory discussion questions to help you prepare for the session.
