Crisis and Resilience: Parenting, Relationships, and Divorce During COVID-19

Dr. Abbie Goldberg
The Jan and Larry Landry University Professor of Psychology;
Director of Women's and Gender Studies Program

Thursday, October 15, noon

Parents are coping with serious stressors as they navigate the COVID-19 pandemic. Many parents are working from home while also caring for or managing remote schooling for their children, some of whom have special needs, emotional/behavioral issues, or learning challenges. Some parents are experiencing heightened tension in their marriages, and considering or pursuing divorce-while still others are trying to coparent with their former spouses alongside changing custody and child support expectations brought on by the pandemic. Professor Abbie Goldberg will share findings of two studies she has conducted during COVID that address these complex family issues-one on adoptive families, and one on divorced parents. There will be time for questions and discussion.
