Join Dr. John Garton, Associate Professor of Art History, and students from his Art, the Public, and Worcester’s Cultural Institutions course for a behind-the-scenes look at the Women of WAM: Depictions of Femininity in Early Modern Europe, currently on view at the Worcester Art Museum. Learn how Dr. Garton and his students selected artworks, researched, and curated this exhibition. Come experience the psychological “double bind,” often contradictory depictions reinforced for women, while learning about the artworks of Judith Leyster and other artists working in Europe 1400-1700.
